PRESS: Apple gains almost half Russia’s phone market in money Nov
MOSCOW, Dec 27 (PRIME) -- Apple occupied 43.1% of the Russian smartphone market in money in November and 16.4% in units, business daily Vedomosti reported on Wednesday, citing a partner company of several electronics manufacturers.
Other retailer said Apple’s share in money in November was some 45%, the highest in the country over the last seven years.
In September, Apple’s smartphones held 32.6% of the market in money and 13.8% in units. The share of its closest rival, Samsung, decreased 6 percentage points since September to 25% in money and 1 percentage point to 24.6% in units.
Dmitry Solodovnikov, a spokesperson for mobile operator MTS, which also runs a retain chain, said that a 10.5 percentage point growth for Apple is not a record. In October 2016, in the first full month of sales of the iPhone 7 in Russia, Apple’s share in money rocketed by more than 14 percentage points on the month, he said.
